Hailstorm repairs - update
Feb. 8th, 2007 07:52 pmFurther to my NYE report, we are in the process of getting all the repairs done/organised.
The TV antenna guys came Monday and replaced the antenna and booster box and about half the cables - we now have really good TV reception.
The guys are coming next week to assess the damage to the gas wall furnace - hopefully they will decide it needs replacing.
The builder came just before we went away on hols and will start work in March - we have asked that he not start before then as it is too hot to have the ceiling torn out of the loungeroom and ruining the air-conditioning's effectiveness. Expect havoc for about 3 weeks though!
The insurance company are sending us a cheque to spend on tiles to replace the carpet that was ruined - that will happen after the ceiling is replaced, walls moved, repainted etc. Hmmm, new curtains will also be required as we're changing the room colour scheme from blue/crimson to green/ochre. Some new furniture will be required - mostly to hold CDs and DVDs as I'd like to consolidate some of the stuff we have in various places.
And John wants to remodel the waterbed while it's in pieces. And I think I'd like to have a go at re-covering the lounge suite. And making covers for the tatty old leather recliners (why didn't I have the sense to push them UNDER the water spouts instead of trying to save them.......)
Will post about the holiday soon.
