an old-fashioned favourite

They always gave Avon the best lines.
Borrowed series 2 and 3 of Blakes 7 from the library - we've been indulging ourselves with a marathon. I used to sit glued to the telly every Saturday night watching it. Always did love Avon best. The plots were often trite and predictable, the production values were crap - and the costumes must have come from whatever the BBC was making that week - but they spent their money on the scriptwriters and it shows. Tight, witty dialogue and frequent attacks of black, ironic humour. Oh, and Paul Darrow.
No wonder we loved it.
