Politics - unfamiliar territory
Feb. 15th, 2008 11:20 pmYes, I know it's unlike me to even mention them, living as I do in the middle of Hotair Town, but this Rudd feller is scary.
Hasn't he ever heard of core promises and non-core promises? Weaseling? Knuckling under to pressure?
ISTM that he's actually going to do all the things he said he would during the election campaign!!!!!!! However much that is going to piss some people off. And you can already hear the screaming.
I was rather impressed with the pay-freeze for pollies; just wish they could do something about the parliamentary super scheme! Wouldn't it be grand if they pegged pollies' salaries to teachers' pay scales?
Actually I rather hope they think twice about the tax cuts and find some way to put it into super instead. Last thing this economy needs is more money in the pocket to spend so we get another rate hike.
