You call THAT a Holiday?????
Mar. 18th, 2008 11:32 pmNote to self:
Things to do in Melbourne:
1) - visit with friends and enjoy several leisurely dinners and much conversation
2) - visit bookshop and buy new books
3) - get new clothes for selves and children
4) - go to Grand Prix for possibly the last time (thank you Mr Ecclestone)
Things not to do in Melbourne:
1) - break leg (fractured right fibula) on Thursday afternoon while leaving Grand Prix circuit
2) - spend 24 hours in Alfred Hospital thereby missing Friday's events
3) - take painkillers on empty stomach causing 24 hours of nausea and vomiting thereby missing Saturday's events.
4) - accept hire of wheelchair not marked as insufficiently sturdy to carry me
5) - go in said wheelchair to Grand Prix in 39 degree heatwave on Sunday
6) - be sitting in wheelchair going up ramp when front wheel breaks
7) - leave spare car keys at first hotel when checking out
8) - hurt arm when armrest of replacement wheelchair falls off
9) - check into next hotel which is experiencing power problems (because of previously mentioned heatwave) causing lifts to not work and be stuck in rapidly heating lobby waiting for something to happen as unable to climb stairs.
Ass you can tell we had a wonderful time!! Many thanks to
msss for the support and encouragement as well as the ultimately futile search for a skirt for me to wear over this blasted CAM Walker. I eventually tracked a couple down in Autograph at The Glen but it wasn't easy!
The next couple of months are going to be interesting as I can't drive so John is back to chauffer duties and we're coming up to BAS time again!! There will have to be changes to work habits as steps are out of the question and wheelchair access is necessary for at least a month.
So. How's life with everyone else?
