Our new toy
Mar. 21st, 2009 07:40 pmWell, we got the second instalment of Uncle Kevvie's Pressie this week (this one is the Back to School Bonus - $950 for each school-aged kid) so we went out and bought the PVR we have been talking about for the past year and more. This one:

The TF7100HDPVRt, got it at JB-HiFiat a quite reasonable price ($696). John has been having fun today working out how to programme it before we go to Melbourne next week, so he can get all the Grand Prix coverage recorded plus our usual favourites. This little beastie has the twin HD tuners so we can record two channels while watching a third. Handy for Tuesday and Wednesday nights when there are always 3 things to watch - unlike Fridays when there's nothing! And as we don't have pay TV (nor are we likely to ever get it) it's nice to be able to record some of the stuff we usually miss - and the fact that ABC2 is now crystal clear (Scrapheap Challenge anyone?).
Unfortunately the next instalment is going to go on bills and tax debt, but we did a little bit for the economy, no?
