A poll - sorta
Jun. 4th, 2009 10:12 amI had an idea recently, connected to the whole fatness vs fitness dilemma. And I'd like some feedback from my FL if you'd like to.
Those of you who have met me know that I'm fat - and have been since puberty. I'm 170cm (5'7") tall. I weigh about 120kg (265lbs). I'm a classic pear shape, as was my mother and all my female relatives in her line. I know I'm fat. I'm not 'heavy' or 'bigger' or 'blooming' or any of those other euphemisms which, frankly, I find a bit nauseating. Prejudice against fat people, including the often tortuous lengths some go to to avoid even the word is hurtful and annoying. YMMV, of course.
So, if you were to see an advert for exercise classes called "Fat Lady Fit" with a qualifying BMI of over 30, would you be interested - or offended?
