Birthday Dinner
Aug. 9th, 2009 12:31 amNow returned from my birthday dinner up the road at the outlaws. Only eight of us tonight - John and me, his Mum & Dad, the girls and our very good friends John and Sandy.
Leek & Potato soup, roast turkey buffe with roast potatoes and steamed vegetables (lots of brassicas!) followed by berry pastries and trifle for dessert. The Lerida Estate 2006 Brut Rose to start followed by a 2004 Trevor Jones Dry Grown Shiraz and a 2006 Trevor Jones Wild Witch Shiraz. Lovely food and wine, great company too.
Oh, and presents. The girls got me a lovely top in dark purple with ruffles - I need to get a black mid-sleeved spencer to wear under it - from Autograph. John and his parents both gave me Dymocks gift cards and John and Sandy gave me another two bottles of Bombay Sapphire to match the two they gave me for xmas! The Dymocks cards will come in really handy as I have a list of knitting/crochet books that I have borrowed from the library and now want to buy. And a G&T when I get home in the afternoon will be nice, too.
We had new family portraits done last month so I must get a head-shot from one of them scanned for a new userpic - although I don't really like me in any of the photos.
I'm going to the Craft Fair at EPIC tomorrow, possibly by myself if I can escape early enough - I'd like a bit of me-time for a change.
