I wish I was better at reviews because I really liked Horizon and would like to do one - but I'm not very good at that sort of thing (as
mmegaera can testify). Good book, rounds the whole story out nicely and gives closure in most places I was looking for it.
Given the recent discussion on the LMB list about euphemisms for body parts during sex I was chortling most of the way through the Krentz. There was even a 'throbbing manhood'. Snort.
Is it just me or does anyone else flinch when they read things like the following in the front cover testimonials "If you haven't sampled the new chick lit to hit the Christian book market, meet its queen" and "Kristin Billerbeck is the THE new voice in Christian fiction". Up until that point the book looked interesting given the back cover blurb. I wish some of those comments were on the back cover - but they were carefully hidden inside. Made me wonder if it was on purpose because I found it almost unreadable and probably wouldn't have picked it up if I'd read those comments first. No offence meant to anyone.
