happy ending
Jan. 20th, 2009 08:58 pmWe won the chair with a high bid of $82. So today we drove to Sydney to collect it. It's just as described and will fit in perfectly (although slightly darker than mine). We're going to get an upholsterer to quote for fixing the torn right arm on mine using the leather that's on John's old chair. So I'm a pretty happy camper tonight and feeling more confident about using eBay - so I've gone and bid on a nine-hole bookshelf thingy to hold my knitting storage cubes properly. There are four of them on offer so I'm hoping to get one for under $100 (freight is about $57 on top of that). It will look so much better than the chromed metal shelf unit I got from Bunnings. Each cube space is 39x39x39 so the 30x30x30 cubes will sit nicely and I should be able to put some of the pattern books in next to them.
