jekniJohn is away down the coast with our friend John. They seem to be doing a heap of walking on the beach with the dogs, drinking whisky and watching war movies.
We here at home are sitting kniiting in armchairs with cats on our laps, drinking sloe gin and tokay (not together - eeek!) and watching movies with hot actors - Jeremy Northam, Kenneth Branagh, Mathew MacFadyen, Toby Stephens, Colin Firth.
Wonder who is having more fun?

Date: 2011-10-23 10:21 am (UTC)They get in a bus Friday morning (?Thursday evening?), start drinking, head out to some good fishing spot theyve been going to for years, keep drinking, stay at a country hotel who are used to them and welcome them, more drinking, do sometimes do some fishing, keep drinking, occasionally do weird things like playing some beach cricket, more drinking, occasionally even more weird things, more drinking, get in the bus and drive home - with more drinking for those that are actually still awake.
Somewhere in there they have amazing BBQs on the beach. I dont know if they actually sleep much - or if they do I doubt its in a bed. The number that goes varies from a core 8-10 to as many as fifty (anniversary year). They have polo shirts or t-shirts made with various writing on them.
How do I know? There are pix. Many pix. Pix that shouldnt see the light of day. Pix that are blackmailable.
My boss was supposed to go but had to pull out as he has too much work.
FIIK? Well, one year someone asked what they should call this annual thing. "F***** If I Know" someone said. And its been that way ever since.
The wives have occasionally ganged up on them and said they would do something similar, but it never happens :( The mind boggles. If the men do that, what would the women do? :D
